Took Best puppy at Mouth of The South at 6mts old & went Best of Breed at Northern Bulldog Bonanza 13mts old. Very happy with "Lilly`s" developement.

In the mid 1980`s the late Mr K Mollett started a breeding program in the UK with the aim of creating a healthier Bulldog than the type seen in the show ring (kennel club). He had many critics but he persisted with his vision of producing a healthier Bulldog. This line he created is known as the “Victorian Bulldog”. The “VB” as it is known amongst its fanciers is more active than the show type variety, he enjoys walks with his owner & likes to play, plus although they can be quite uncooperative at times they are fairly good at learning basic training commands. The VB also has a happy friendly temperament just like the show variety has..

The Victorian Bulldogs I own and breed occasionally have evolved from over 25 years of breeding which involved various Bull breed combinations. A more historically correct and healthier dog being the aim. The results are now clear.

In Jan 2003 after stepping down from position of Chairman-registrar of The VBS, I founded the Victorian Bulldog Foundation, the aim being to preserve & further develope the dogs our founder members owned, all being obviously direct from Ken Molletts line.

A lot of modern Bulldogs recognised by the kennel club are a caricature of its former self. Any knowledgeable vet will denounce that its features are detrimental to its wellbeing. Breeders at the being of the 20th century capitalised on introducing a dwarfism gene found in dogs that results in stumpy type limbs etc this is in my opinion how the features & general health-breathing of our national breed took a turn for the worst.

I have been infatuated with Bulldogs for many years and throughout this time I have collected and learned a lot about the history and development of this intriguing breed of dog. Having been involved with the showing of dogs, which I did enjoy, I became disheartened over some health issues with regards to the Bulldogs I so loved. The main issue being its general lack of fitness.
I gave up on the modern form of Bulldog in 1996 when I discovered the Victorian Bulldog. This was the dog for me!!, generally more robust, with less breathing problems and above all it still has that great Bulldog temperament.

 2012 VBF puppies available soon.
